Is Jesus, God Almighty

John 4:23,24
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father
in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is
Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Before you begin, please take a moment and pray so that God Almighty can open your mind
and give you a humble heart, and that this information will bring you so much closer to Him.

Everything you will read on these pages are from Scripture. All scriptures are from the New King James Version unless otherwise stated. Words in this color are my own personal words. Please take out your Bible and let's get into the Word.

Before I decided to do this, I talked to many people about their belief in the Trinity or the Godhead. To my surprise when I asked them to explain the Trinity or Godhead to me I received many different answers. In a nutshell they said that the Trinity or Godhead is:

1 God
-
Trinity
God The Father
1st part of the Godhead
*
God The Son
2nd part of the Godhead
*
God The Holy Spirit
3rd part of the Godhead
*
Even though they are on one hand 3 separate Gods
or persons  and are co-eternal and co-equal,
they are on the other hand considered to
still be only 1 God. This is what
many people call the
Mystery of God
1 God
-
Godhead

---------------------------------------------------------------

Before we go into scripture, please be aware that:

  • No place in the Bible will you find the phrase (God The Son) You will find (God The Father) many times, but never (God The Son).
  • No place in the Bible will you find NOT EVEN ONCE Jesus Christ ever using the word Godhead in any of his statements, parables or conversations to anyone.
  • No place in the Bible will you find Jesus saying He was part of any Godhead or that his Father was part of any Godhead. But Jesus mentioned God, his Father many, many times.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Who Is Jesus in relation to Almighty God?

Below are words spoken by Almighty God: - As you are reading this, remember Almighty God cannot lie.

Mathew 3:16,17

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Mark 9:5-7

Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”— 6 because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid. 7 And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”

  • Almighty God Cannot Lie! Remember, this is God speaking saying as plainly as you can say it, "This is my beloved Son".  He did not say "This is the 2nd part of the Godhead". He said This is my beloved Son."

Below are words spoken by Jesus Christ: - As you are reading this, remember Jesus Christ cannot lie either.

Mathew 24:36 - But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

Mathew 26:39 - He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

John 20: 17 - Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”

Revelation 3:12 - He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

  • Jesus Cannot Lie! Here this is Jesus speaking saying as plainly as you can say it on several occasions, "My Father" and "My God"  Jesus did not say "My Godhead". He always referred to Almighty God as His Father and His God. As you can see from these 6 scriptures that Almighty God and Jesus Christ are Father and Son, plain and simple.

If there were only 3 scriptures that I could show you for
you to see and understand about this subject, it would
be the next 3 scriptures below. Notice the words
that Jesus himself spoke to his Father,
Almighty God in the first scripture.

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know
You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Please read that scripture again and again. Jesus here says that his Father is the ONLY TRUE GOD, not himself, not a Godhead, not anyone else but his Father. Once again, (Jesus cannot lie.)

Now notice these 2 very, very important scriptures.

1 Corinthians 8:6
yet for us there is
one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

Ephesians 4: 4-6
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5
one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Let me ask you a question. According to these scriptures who is this God who we all agree there is only 1 of? You are correct in your answer. He is the Father. That's it, nothing else, period, end of story. Look at those scriptures again. You see nothing in any of these scriptures that say that our 1 God is part of any Godhead. The Father who is the 1 God is Supreme. You can't get any higher than the Supreme Being that Jesus referred to as the ONLY TRUE GOD.

Let me ask you this next question. Do these scriptures say anything about Jesus Christ being God? Correct again. The answer is NO. These scriptures plainly say that there is 1 God (being the Father only) and 1 Lord being Jesus Christ. So after looking at these scriptures we see that Jesus Christ is not Almighty God.

As Christians, our Christian Faith is based upon these 2 scriptures.

  • John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

Notice it did not say that.... For the Godhead did not send the 2nd part of the Godhead into the world........... The scriptures make it plain that there is God and there is His Son.

  • Romans 10:9 - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

There are 2 things we can see from this scripture and that is that it says God has raised Jesus from the dead. (1) It did not say that one part of the Godhead raised another part of the Godhead from the dead. - (2) Remember in order to be saved we must believe that God raised His Son Jesus from the dead.

The word Godhead is found only 3 times in the King James Version as you will see below. Because of the definition of the word Godhead, you will see how different translations translate the word. As you read the 3 scriptures, please pay close attention. You will see that these scriptures with the word Godhead in no way, shape or form express anything about the 1 God being 3 persons that of (God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit) or the (1st part, 2nd part and 3rd part of the Godhead). Keep in mind that is what people think of when they talk about the Godhead. Now let us continue.

ROMANS 1:18-23

King James Version

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things

New Living Translation

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. 21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

Amplified

18For God's [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative. 19For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them. 20For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification], 21Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened. 22Claiming to be wise, they became fools [professing to be smart, they made simpletons of themselves]. 23And by them the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God were exchanged for and represented by images, resembling mortal man and birds and beasts and reptiles.

COLOSSIANS 2:6-10

King James Version

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. 8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

New Living Translation

And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness. 8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. 9 For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. 10 So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.

Amplified

As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him. 7Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving. 8See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men's ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah). 9For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature]. 10And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead--Father, Son and Holy Spirit--and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].

ACTS 17:27-31

King James Version

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. 29Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. 30And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

New Living Translation

His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us. 28 For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ 29 And since this is true, we shouldn’t think of God as an idol designed by craftsmen from gold or silver or stone. 30 “God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him. 31 For he has set a day for judging the world with justice by the man he has appointed, and he proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead.”

Amplified

So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. 28For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring. 29Since then we are God's offspring, we ought not to suppose that Deity (the Godhead) is like gold or silver or stone, [of the nature of] a representation by human art and imagination, or anything constructed or invented. 30Such [former] ages of ignorance God, it is true, ignored and allowed to pass unnoticed; but now He charges all people everywhere to repent to change their minds for the better and heartily to amend their ways, with abhorrence of their past sins).

As you can see again that these scriptures with the word Godhead, in no way, shape or form expressed anything about the 1 God being 3 persons that of (God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit) or the (1st part, 2nd part and 3rd part of the Godhead). Many people throw the word Godhead around loosely making it mean something it really doesn't mean.

Now let's look at some scriptures that give people the impression that Jesus and God Almighty are the same.

I and My Father are one.

  • John 14:28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

These are the words of Jesus saying that his Father was greater than he was. It is at this point that people who believe that Jesus is Almighty God would say "of course His Father was greater than he was because Jesus was in human form when he said these words." ---- Hold that thought. Let's go to the Scripture that to me has started all of this confusion.

  • John 10:30 -- I and My Father are one.

It is this scripture that will always come up when a person is trying to support the Trinity or Godhead. But think about something. Wasn't Jesus in the same human form when he spoke these words at John 10:30? Yes Jesus was. So we now have to take one of these scriptures literally and the other has to be explained. Please notice that Jesus did not say (I and my Father are one person) or (I and my Father are one God) or (I and my Father are part of a Godhead). Let me now let scripture explain John 10:30. Please note in the next 2 scriptures this is Jesus talking as well.

  • John 17:11 -- Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are.

  • John 17:22 -- And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.

Jesus specifically said that he wanted these individuals to be one just as He and his Father are one. - Now ask yourself, if you take the I and my Father are one literally to mean that Jesus and the Father are together 1 person or 1 God, then you have to conclude in the above versus that Jesus wanted all of these individuals to actually be the same 1 person or 1 God because remember Jesus said - that they may be one just as we are one --.

Now you know and I know that this is impossible for all those individuals to mold and melt into one another to become 1 person. So obviously the I and my Father are one statement must mean something different. Again let's go to scripture to help us understand what it truly means.

  • 2 Corinthians 13:11 -- Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

  • 1 Corinthians 1:10 -- Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

  • Philippians 2:1,2 -- Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

  • (Contemporary English Version Bible) says of Philippians 2:1,2 Christ encourages you, and his love comforts you. God's Spirit unites you, and you are concerned for others. 2 Now make me completely happy! Live in harmony by showing love for each other. Be united in what you think, as if you were only one person.

  • (New Life Version Bible) 1 Peter 3:8 Last of all, you must share the same thoughts and the same feelings. Love each other with a kind heart and with a mind that has no pride.

  • (The Message Bible) 1 Peter 3:8 Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble

  • Romans 15:5,6 -- Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ

So we can see and understand from the above scriptures what Jesus must have meant when he says in John 10:30 - I and my Father are one and John 17:22 - that they may be one just as we are one. Jesus and His Father both are united in what they think, they speak the same thing, they are like minded, they are both on the same page, they are both in agreement with one another, they are of one accord, they are union with one another. All of these things are the same things that are expected of us as Christians. This is how we as Christians are one just as Jesus and Almighty God are one.

If after reading all of this, you still feel that the I and my Father are one statement means that Jesus and His Father are 1 person or 1 God then remember what Jesus said in John 14:28 - My Father is greater than I. Both statements were when He was in human form. For Jesus to say that His Father was greater than He was is to come to the conclusion that Jesus is not Almighty God.

Almighty God Cannot Die But Jesus Christ Died
(To Believe Jesus Is God Is To Believe That God Died)

  • Romans 5: 6-10 - For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

  • Romans 8:34 - Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:3,4 - For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures

  • 2 Corinthians 5:14,15  - For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

We know that Almighty God cannot die but as you can plainly see Jesus Christ did die and was resurrected. Remember this was the whole purpose for Jesus coming to the earth, that is to die for all the sins of mankind. If Jesus had not fulfilled his mission to the end, which was to completely die, then we as human beings would not be able to have our sins forgiven and also have the ability to be saved. So as you can see from these scriptures that Jesus Christ is not Almighty God.

He who has seen Me has seen the Father - What does that mean?
John 14:7-9 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you
know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for
us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?
He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Many people feel that this scripture means to see with the literal eye and that looking
at Jesus means that they are talking to and looking directly at the Father.

Notice only 3 verses later Jesus says:

  • John 14:12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  This shows that it was not with the literal eye that Jesus made the "He who has seen Me has seen the Father statement" because he just said I go to My Father, which means he is separate from and not his Father.

Where was his Father, while Jesus was on the earth?

  • John 17:1 - Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You,

Jesus prayed to his Father who was in heaven.

  • John 20:17 - Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’

Jesus was ascending to his Father who was in heaven. If Jesus was on earth and his Father was in heaven, then it was not to see with the literal eye what Jesus meant when he said "He who has seen Me has seen the Father."

To see and understand what Jesus meant with this statement, notice 3 words that Jesus used closely. The words (Know) (Known) and (Seen). He used them 7 times between verse 7 and verse 9. Let us look at the definitions of these words:

As you have just read that these words have similar meanings which are to (have understanding, possess knowledge or to comprehend).

For Jesus to have said “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? shows that were was something that Philip was just not seeing or understanding. Let's now get a little deeper into this statement.

Jesus says in:

  • John 6:38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

  • Luke 10:22 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

One of the missions of Jesus was to reveal, make known and to help people to understand everywhere about who his Father was.

  • John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Everything Jesus hears from his Father he makes known and helps people to see the meaning of his Father's words.

  • John 5:19-22     Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

The Scriptures plainly say that Jesus does everything he sees his Father do in like manner. So whatever he saw or heard from his Father, he did. Jesus perfectly represented his Father by saying the things his Father would say and doing the things that his Father would do. Everything Jesus did was about bringing glory to his Father.

Jesus wanted to make his Father known to everyone, he wanted for people to come to an understanding of who his Father was and in turn encourage people to repent and do the will of his Father. For a person to do the will of his Father, they had to learn, gain knowledge and understanding of his Father. Jesus did this by his words, his teaching, his actions and by being a perfect example of his Father and being a perfect example for us to follow.

As Christians we are to follow in the footsteps and example of Christ Jesus. When we are home or in the workplace, people should be saying there is something different about you. When we say who we are and that our Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ, people should say, I see, I understand, you are a Christian.

When people see us, through our actions and the way we live our life, they should see the Jesus that is in us. Remember we are representing Jesus and his Father Almighty God at all times. Just like people see Jesus in us, people saw the Father in Jesus Christ.  This is what Jesus meant when he said "He who has seen Me has seen the Father".

Does Jesus Being Referred To As God Make Him Almighty God?
John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Let's first look at the definition of the word god.

god  audio  (gd)

NOUN:
  1. God
    1. A being conceived as the perfect, omnipotent, omniscient originator and ruler of the universe, the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions.
    2. The force, effect, or a manifestation or aspect of this being.
  2. A being of supernatural powers or attributes, believed in and worshiped by a people, especially a male deity thought to control some part of nature or reality.
  3. An image of a supernatural being; an idol.
  4. One that is worshiped, idealized, or followed: Money was their god.
  5. A very handsome man.
  6. A powerful ruler

The word for god in Hebrew (Old Testament) is (elohim). The word for god in Greek (New Testament) is (theos). They mean the same thing. Notice below some scriptures in how the word god is used.

OLD TESTAMENT

  • Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God (elohim) created the heavens and the earth.

  • Psalms 82:1 God (elohim) stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods (elohim).

  • Psalms 82:6 I said, “You are gods (elohim), And all of you are children of the Most High.

  • 2 Kings 22:17 because they have forsaken Me and burned incense to other gods (elohim), that they might provoke Me to anger with all the works of their hands. Therefore My wrath shall be aroused against this place and shall not be quenched.

  • Jeremiah 10:11 Thus you shall say to them: “The gods (elohim) that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”

  • 2 Chronicles 32:19 And they spake against the God (elohim) of Jerusalem, as against the gods (elohim) of the people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man.

  • Exodus 7:1 So the LORD said to Moses: “See, I have made you as God (elohim) to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

NEW TESTAMENT

  • John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (theos), and the Word was God (theos).

  • John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God (theos)!”

  • Hebrews 1:9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God (theos), Your God (theos), has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

  • Acts 7:40 saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods (theos) to go before us; as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.
  • 1 Corinthians 8:4-6 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God (theos) but one. 5For though there be that are called gods (theos) , whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods (theos) many, and lords many,) 6But to us there is but one God (theos), the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

  • 2 Corinthians 4:4 whose minds the god (theos) of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (theos), should shine on them.

As you can see from the scriptures you just read above that the word god in Hebrew (Old Testament)-(elohim) and the word for god in Greek (New Testament)-(theos) is used for:

  • Satan
(Does this make satan God Almighty just because he was referred to as god in the scriptures? The answer is
    NO!)

  • Idols
(Does this make these idols God Almighty just because they were referred to as gods in the scriptures? The answer is
    NO!)

  • Moses
(Does this make Moses God Almighty just because he was referred to as god in the scriptures? The answer is
    NO!)

  • Jesus
(Does this make Jesus God Almighty just because he was referred to as god in the scriptures? The answer is
    NO!)

Remember what Jesus said in John 17:3 talking to his Father God Almighty.
John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know
You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Please note that Jesus himself here says that his Father is the ONLY TRUE GOD, not himself, not idols, not satan, not a Godhead, not anyone or anything else but only his Father.

One thing we have to remember is that the word god is not a name. It is only a title like the word king or president is a title. What distinguishes one president from another or one king from another is a name like King David or King Nebuchadnezzar. What is God Almighty's name, the only true God that Jesus referred to in John 17:3? His name in the King James Version of the bible is:

  • Psalms 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

  • Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

  • Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Look At All The Glory, Power & Authority That
God Almighty Has Given His Son Jesus Christ

  • John 13:3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself.

  • John 17:24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

  • Mathew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

  • Philippians 2: 9-11 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  • John 3:35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.

  • John 5: 25-27 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

  • John 17:1,2 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2 as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

  • Ephesians 1:20-23 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

As you can see if all authority was given to Jesus by his Father, that means he did not have it before his Father gave it to him. This means that Jesus is not God Almighty.

Let us fast forward and find out from the scriptures exactly what Jesus is to do with all this authority that His Father has given Him at the end when death is destroyed. The 2 scriptures below are the same scripture just 2 different translations exactly as they appear.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 (New Living Translation)
After that the end will come, when he will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. 25 For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. 26 And the last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under his authority.” (Of course, when it says “all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.) 28 Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.

  • 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 (New King James Version)
Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.” But when He says “all things are put under Him,” it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

We see 3 things from this scripture. (1) the scripture is showing that Jesus (being a separate person from God) is turning the Kingdom over to God (not to the Godhead or part of the Godhead) but turning it over to God, The Father. (2) It is showing that God gave Jesus his authority. Jesus did not have authority until God Almighty gave it to him. (3) When everything is all said and done, Jesus will put himself under God, so that Almighty God may be all in all and utterly supreme over everything everywhere, showing us that Jesus is not God Almighty.
